Ulf always liked music. As a little boy he wasn´t aiming to be Batman, Superman or Winnieh the Pooh, but Ace Frehley of KISS. Even without a word of English in his vocabulary, he knew all the lyrics.

At the tender age of nine, he started playing drums and found out that this was the first thing that he really liked a lot.

At the age of eleven, he read an interview with Farin Urlaub, guitarist for German supergroup Die Ärzte, who claimed that guitar players got way more girls than drummers (sorry Bela!) ‡ Ulf started playing guitar and told everyone "I´m a guitar player" since then.

Between 1990 and 1994 Ulf played guitar and drums in many different bands. Girls: don´t even ask, ok?!

In 1994, Ulf moved to Berlin and enrolled at Berlin Fine Arts school to pursue his studies in Communications and Business. Only reward: girls, and that without schlepping Marshall cabs up flights of stairs. "I´m gonna have to think about that muso thing...", he thought...

In 1995, Ulf brought Houston´s Hadden Sayers Band to Germany, was on the road with them for two weeks, saw a different town every night and ended up with an enormous profit of 250 bucks -‡ "I like this!!"

That summer, Ulf read a classified ad by Germany´s best music PR firm, Sister Right Promotion and introduced himself for the position of intern. After a horrifying wait "Sorry, your application was UNDER the table!", he got hired.

He worked two months for Sister Right Promotion and handled clients such as Cyco Miko, Rammstein, Cardigans, Dimple Minds, Randalica, Kingdom Come, Stoppok etc.

In the fall of 1995 he promoted the first of many tours with Michael Landau´s Raging Honkies. He now starts to like the touring business.

In the spring of 1996, he promotes Kingdom Come, source for a still-blooming friendship with Lenny Wolf and Kai Fricke. Lost a lot of money. Touring?? Fuck that crap!

In the fall of 1996 tour with David Lindley. Big crowds, no stress! That´s the kind of sugar Papa likes!! David Lindley becomes a huge influence and nothing less than a mentor.

In the fall of 1996, Ulf starts his own PR firm 2 x zwei Promotion. At first it´s fun but then it easily gets boring. That´s why...

Ulf starts ulfTone music in 1998. At first just designed to release David Lindley´s records, it becomes more. I´m sorry, it wasn´t planned like that!!

Fall 2001: Ulf is 27 years old, looks like forty but still is as excited as a thirteen year old sporting his first woody whilst looking at a Madonna poster, when it gets to his work. I´m not over, yet!!
